Although we love our big hiking days, you don’t have to go far from our chalet in les gets to find the most stunning scenery and nature. In June and July the meadows are heaving with Alpine flowers and insects which attracts keen photographers to our pastures.
Local photographer Lucilla Phelps (http://www.lucillaphelpsphotographer.com) holds her Alpine Photography Workshops here at Chalet Sandy, which incorporate fantastic days out on the mountains with helpful photography tips, local knowledge on all flower and bug species and a fully catered holiday at Chalet Sandy. Trips to local spots include Mont Caly for sunrise and sunset over Mont Blanc, Praz de Lys for rare flower spotting, Lake Montriond for amazing landscape shots and Cascade d’Ardent for flowing water photography.
We supply cooked breakfasts, gourmet picnic lunches including wine (of course!), afternoon tea and 4 course dinners to ensure that our keen photographers are kept well fed and watered! We can offer this 3 day all inclusive package without tution anytime throughout the summer months (Hilly can provide all flower knowledge and basic photography tips!) OR including Lucilla’s fantastic tuition next June (dates and availability to be confirmed). So many places to see – so many photographs to take!
